Description

Who We Are: PROVIDENCE ARP began as a mission church in Fayetteville, NC in 2002. Our mission was to be used by God to create a strong Reformed and Evangelical Christian church where the pure doctrine of the gospel is preached, the pure administration of the sacraments as instituted by Christ is maintained, and church discipline is faithfully exercised. Our great desire is to be used in bringing in the Lord's harvest as people are brought to saving faith in Jesus Christ. We have grown quite a bit since then and we became a particular church in 2005, but our mission remains the same. Soli Deo Gloria!

What Denomination We Belong To: We are part of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church (ARP) NOT the larger mainline PCUSA. The ARP is a theologically conservative Presbyterian and Reformed Christian denomination founded in Philadelphia in 1782.

Here is our denominational webpage: https://arpchurch.org/

Our Commitment to Biblical Marriage: Providence is part of the ARP, a denomination committed to maintaining Jesus Christ’s definition of marriage as being between one man and one woman, for life (see Matthew 19:4-6). For more information, please see the following official denominational statement on human sexuality: https://arpchurch.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Human-Sexuality-Position-Statement-2019.pdf

What We Believe

Here is a brief summary of our fundamental beliefs:

We believe the Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.

We believe in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that all are sinners and totally unable to save themselves from God’s displeasure, except by His mercy.

We believe that salvation is by God alone as He sovereignly chooses those He will save. We believe His choice is based on His grace, not on any human individual merit, or foreseen faith.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who through His perfect life and sacrificial death atoned for the sins of all who will trust in Him, alone, for salvation.

We believe that God is gracious and faithful to His people not simply as individuals but as families in successive generations according to His Covenant promises.

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and gives them the strength and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him.

We believe that Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to judge all mankind and to receive His people to Himself.

We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

About Our Worship: We practice simple, Biblical worship and believe that God alone teaches us how He is to be worshipped in His word and that we are not to introduce any man-made traditions or innovations (i.e. The Regulative Principle of Worship). We worship in the morning (10 AM) and the evening (6 PM) We sing both Psalms and Hymns in every service. We celebrate the Lord's Supper on the last Sunday of every month followed by a fellowship meal that everyone is invited to attend.
